How Much Does Soluble Oak Cost?
*Make sure and see specific OAK NOTES under your Beverages on the top menu.
Soluble Oak is a premium white oak extract designed to deliver greater complexity, consistency, and control than conventional oak alternatives. While oak chips may cost less, Soluble Oak provides a broader expression of oak and is significantly more economical than barrel aging.
The cost depends primarily on three factors:
The desired result
A small dose can enhance mouthfeel and balance. A higher dose creates more distinct oak flavor and aroma.
The beverage
Lighter products, such as lager or Chardonnay, require less Soluble Oak because subtle changes are easier to detect. Bold products, such as Imperial stout or robust red wine, generally require more.
The strength of the oak profile
A subtle treatment may require less than 0.3% Soluble Oak, while a pronounced oak profile may require approximately 1%.
Typical Retail Cost
(pricing based on introductory kits, please contact us for commercial pricing)
For lighter beverages or subtle mouthfeel enhancement:
About $0.14 per pint
About $0.23 per 750 ml bottle
About $0.31 per liter
For bold beverages or a pronounced oak profile:
About $0.49 per pint
About $0.78 per 750 ml bottle
About $1.04 per liter
Because Soluble Oak is added after fermentation and final filtration, you can test small samples and precisely dial in the flavor, aroma, and mouthfeel you want before treating the full batch.
