WINE: Use minimal dosing for white (generally under .5%). Reds typically require .5 – .8% or more.
BEER: Lighter, less robust beers use a lower dose (approximately .5%). Ambers and darker styles use a higher dose (.7 – 1% or more).
SPIRITS: For mouthfeel, the typical dose is about .5%. For a full oak palate, the dose can start at 1% and go up to 5%.
